I looked at the Hackney Studios Photo Essay.
The photos are taken from a medium shot angle, showing different kinds of artists in their respective studios surrounded by their tools or work. The artists have different expressions, and they are surrounded by what they have made in their workspace, so each photo brings out the personality and unique feelings that each artist has. The story is that in just East London, specifically in Hackney, there are many creative individuals with styles all across the board, and each artist was a creator of something different, some music, some art, some sculpting and others clothing. Each individual specializes in creating a specific product in such a way and with such a purpose that no one else can replicate it. All these individuals add up and create the society we live in, and all the art, clothes, and inventions we have today are because of each individual. If I am going to be honest, no text was needed for these images. I did not read a word of the article that was not part of the title, and these images speak for themselves. Capturing a subject in its natural habitat, in any circumstance, brings out the rawness and true emotions of the subject, and for these photos it brings out a piece of the artist, like I already have seen their work before or spoken wit them before. It brings out a sort of familiarity.

My favorite part of this image is it captures Tim's legendary stride.
The hardest part was figuring out how to get each Tim show on the same layer. The easiest was taking pictures of Tim. |
